
Mark Sullivan, an organizational psychologist, is CEO of Performance Learning Academy and former Ohio State University Fisher College of Business Executive Educator. Additionally, he coaches executives, entrepreneurs and general managers. He is a noted international motivational keynote speaker on resilience and performance impact skills in high-demand, high-challenge environments.
Over the last 25 plus years, Mark has served in leadership and operating roles in Dow 30 and Global 1000 companies. For Honeywell, he founded/managed a Corp. Business Incubator that grew into a $1B product portfolio. Later, he assisted in developing a mid-market business in org. growth and capacity building as an APEX Managing Partner, and an Accenture P&L executive. More recently, he was the Chief Talent Officer for Battelle, a $40B govt. contractor of classified and commercial technology.
Earlier in his career, Mark was based in Tokyo, Singapore and Chicago for United Airlines (UAL). He was UAL's lead negotiator in the Pacific Rim for government operating agreements, trade, and vendor contracts. Simultaneously, he oversaw UAL's Executive Sales Institute world-wide.
During this time, Mark was also briefly on special assignment with the U.S. State Department, to support Prime Minister Gorbachev's political reformation efforts in the latter stages of Perestroika. Moscow and Leningrad-based, he worked with a select team of Soviet Generals in developing practices in negotiating peace agreements with their regional neighbors.
He has also led post-merger integration efforts cross-industries, including: aviation (United Airlines-PanAm), media & Broadband (ATT-MediaOne) and telecommunications (US West-Qwest). Restructuring efforts included strategy development and re-tooling workforces, product offerings and delivery channels.
Mark earned his Ph.D. in Leadership and Organizational Development at CWRU (Case Western Reserve University) - Weatherhead Mgmt. School; and his M.A. from Harvard University. He is a Kauffman Foundation Scholar; a Weatherhead Family Business Fellow; a Post-Doc resident from the Gestalt Institute of Cleveland; and visiting faculty at the Roman Catholic Pontifical College. On the personal front, as a former British Outward Bound Survival School Instructor and Eagle Scout, he enjoys outdoor pursuits: running, sailing, horse back riding and high adventure camping. He is married with three sons.
